Manchester United announces pre-season tour to Uncle Sam’s land

Manchester United have confirmed that their pre-season tour will be in the United States. With games against West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in the Premier League Summer Series. United

will take on West Ham in New Jersey on July 26, before starting their training camp in Chicago. Where they will take on Bournemouth on July 30 and conclude with Everton in Atlanta on August 3.

This will be the third successive season that United have chosen to tour the United States. Having previously camped in San Diego and Los Angeles over the past two summers.

The announcement was made public on NBC during half-time of Sunday’s Premier League match against Arsenal at Old Trafford. United technical director Jason Wilcox said: “The weeks leading up to a new Premier League season are always an exciting time for United players. And fans and we are thoroughly enjoying our time in the United States. Taking advantage of our world-class training facilities and stadiums. and engage with fans. 

“Playing against other Premier League teams gives the players the opportunity to get valuable playing time against top opposition. And our passionate fans will get to see some of the biggest names in world football play live at three of the most iconic stadiums in North America.

” United legend Andy Cole told NBC . “Stadiums in the US offer the players a world-class environment to prepare for next season and to bond as a team. 

“Playing against three Premier League teams in three different stadiums is a real advert for the quality of the league. “Manchester United has a huge following in the US and I know they will be really excited to watch and engage with the team when they return there this summer.”
