Barack Obama: The Muslim Brotherhood President

Barack-Obama-speaking-to--007The State Department announced Wednesday that it was cutting hundreds of millions in military and other aid to Egypt, and make no mistake: this was not a government shutdown move. This was the President of the United States blackmailing a sovereign state to force it to restore the Muslim Brotherhood government he favors. With the Egyptian economy in crisis and Egypt strongly dependent on this aid, Obama has just effectively cast his vote for the Muslim Brotherhood’s return to power – and his vote outweighs that of millions of Egyptians.

This comes as the Brotherhood is becoming increasingly violent in Egypt, belying its “moderate” reputation. The New York Times reported Tuesday that “three brazen attacks across the country included a drive-by shooting near the Suez Canal that killed six soldiers, a car bomb that killed three police officers and wounded dozens near the Red Sea resorts area, and the first rocket-propelled grenade launched in the struggle, exploding near an elite enclave of the capital and damaging a satellite transmitter.”

Obama has said nothing about this. Nor has he said anything about the recent attempt by Muslim Brotherhood supporters to assassinate Bishop Makarios of Upper Egypt’s Minya governorate, where Brotherhood men have burned churches and terrorized Christians, scapegoating them for the toppling of the Muslim Brotherhood regime. Indeed, Christians have been scapegoated and brutalized all over Egypt at the hands of supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood.

This persecution has had a decidedly Islamic cast: Asia News reported on September 13 that “the Muslim Brotherhood have turned an evangelical Protestant church in Monshaat Baddini in the province of Samalout (Minya, Upper Egypt) into a mosque. According to local sources, the Islamists have removed all sacred furnishings, paintings, icons and recited the special prayer to consecrate the building to Allah. On the wall of the church an inscription reads: ‘mosque of martyrs and there is no other God but Allah.’”

And AINA reported on the same day that “two Coptic Christians government employees were shot dead yesterday for refusing to pay Jizya, the Muslim poll tax on Christians. Emad Damian, 50, and his cousin Medhat Damian, 37, from the village of Sahel Selim in Assuit Province, were contacted two days before their murder by the leader of a Muslim gang, who was identified by Watany Coptic Newspaper as Ashraf Ahmed Mohammed Khalajah, a registered criminal from the village.”

The jizya is a tax that non-Muslims must pay as a sign of their subjugation to the Muslims, and it is mandated in the Qur’an: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” (9:29)

Yet while warning the Burmese government to stop persecuting that nation’s Muslims, Obama has said little about the escalating persecution of Christians in Egypt – a persecution that is being carried out by people who want to see the Muslim Brotherhood in power there.

Obama’s unstinting and uncritical support for the Muslim Brotherhood is nothing new. The Obama administration’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has for years been so glaringly obvious that in July 2012, when then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited Egypt and had a cordial meeting with now-ousted Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi, foes of the Brotherhood regime pelted her motorcade with tomatoes and shoes for delivering that country up to the rule of the Brotherhood. Protestors held signs reading “Message to Hillary: Egypt will never be Pakistan”; “To Hillary: Hamas will never rule Egypt” and “If you like the Ikhwan [Brotherhood], take them with you!”

And last summer, when the Brotherhood regime was suddenly and unexpectedly toppled from power, numerous anti-Brotherhood protesters held signs accusing Obama of supporting terrorists. One foe of the Brotherhood made a music video including the lyrics: “Hey Obama, support the terrorism/Traitor like the Brotherhood members/Obama say it’s a coup/That’s not your business dirty man.”

Obama’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood goes back to the beginning of his presidency. Early in 2009, when the group was still outlawed in Egypt, he met with its leaders. He made sure to invite Brotherhood leaders to attend his notorious speech to the Islamic world in Cairo in June 4, 2009.

He even invited Ingrid Mattson, then-president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), to offer a prayer at the National Cathedral on his first Inauguration Day – despite the fact that ISNA has admitted its ties to the Brotherhood. The previous summer, federal prosecutors rejected a request from ISNA to remove its unindicted co-conspirator status.

With Brotherhood operatives so warmly favored in the Obama Administration, it’s no surprise that he would want them in power in Egypt as well. And by cutting off aid, he’s strong-arming the Egyptians until they have no choice but to agree.

The Islamist-Interfaith Coalition’s War on the NYPD

20110426_ISNAlogoThe misrepresentation of the NYPD by the Islamists and their interfaith allies continues. In the latest round, the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Campaign is slamming the Department for privately designating a small percentage of mosques and Islamic organizations as “terrorism enterprises.”

Shoulder-to-Shoulder consists of about 30 religious organizations and was birthed in November 2010 in response to the Ground Zero Mosque controversy. The alliance says it was alarmed by how “prejudice against Muslims had reached an unprecedented intensity.”

It also aims to influence policy. It says its work includes “working closely with White House staff,” “working with Congress to explore ways to end anti-Muslim sentiment” and “implementing a comprehensive press strategy.”

One of the founders of Shoulder-to-Shoulder is the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity. ISNA exponentially increases the power of its activism by working through this interfaith coalition. ISNA is so proud of it that its success was at the top of the agenda when its officials met with Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan.

ISNA chose Sayyid Syeed, a former Secretary-General, to lead its new interfaith office. In 2006, he was recorded saying, “Our job is to change the constitution of America.” ISNA’s pro-Sharia influence on Shoulder-to-Shoulder was plain for all to see in its latest newsletter.

There is a section that provides resources “that may be helpful to you as you engage in discussions around anti-Shari’ah or anti-foreign law legislation.” One of them is a June 2013 paper titled, “Secular is Not Always Better: A Closer Look at Some Women-Empowering Features of Islamic Law.”

The overall theme of the newsletter is that the NYPD is discriminating against Muslims in an outrageous fashion. It is titled, “Mosques are houses of worship. Not terrorist organizations.” It is inferred that the NYPD is equating all mosques with terrorist groups, a gross mischaracterization of the NYPD’s operations and integrity. The problem that the NYPD faces is that, inarguably, some mosques are used to preach extremism and foment terrorism.

The Clarion Project sets the record straight by explaining that “[o]ut of a minimum of 175 mosques, only 10 were subjected to a ‘terrorism enterprise investigation’ over 10 years.”

These investigations only commenced after the vetting of a credible lead. These were not randomly chosen mosques. The NYPD would do the same thing to a church or synagogue if there were sufficient evidence that it may be serving as a hotbed for terrorism.

The Shoulder-to-Shoulder newsletter links to an article by Rev. Richard L. Killmer, a Presbyterian minister and Executive Director of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture. He writes that the NYPD is making “wholesale associations” between Muslims and terrorism. He falsely states, “It seems that the NYPD undertook its surveillance without any stated evidence of wrongdoing.”

There are reasons that the NYPD gave extra attention to these mosques. Of course, the NYPD wouldn’t publicly state the evidence it has before a prosecution begins and jeopardize its investigation. That’s common sense. However, even the open-source information that is available about some of these mosques is enough to justify the investigations.

For example, one of the investigated mosques is the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. The NYPD was criticized for keeping a close eye on it and its “moderate” imam, Reda Shata. This is a cleric who praised Hamas, honored its spiritual leader after he was killed by Israel and referred to a female suicide bomber as a “martyr.” Those are statements he made publicly.

Shoulder-to-Shoulder forwards its readers to an article by Linda Sarsour, director of the Arab-American Association of New York. Her group was labeled a “terrorism enterprise” and placed under investigation. The provocative title of her article is, “Being Arab or Muslim is not probable cause for NYPD spying.”

The NYPD did not “spy” on anyone for merely being an Arab or a Muslim.

She writes, “Criminalizing an entire community is not effective policing and is a waste of taxpayer dollars.” She’s right. That’s part of the reason why the NYPD doesn’t do that. Nor did the NYPD do anything illegal, as is implied when she says terrorism can be fought against “while following the law of the land.”

A wide range of non-Muslim religious organizations are signing onto ISNA’s political agenda in the name of interfaith relations. Simultaneously, ISNA is holding huge conventions with a parade of Islamist speakers, misleading non-Muslims about Sharia Law and telling its base that “Muslim terrorism is not a threat after 9/11.” In its magazine, it makes even more exaggerated claims about the NYPD, such as that Muslims get investigated for reporting crimes.

The NYPD officers put themselves on the line to protect us—all of us, including Muslim-Americans. They expose themselves to disdain and danger daily. The least we can do is honor them by giving them a fair shake.

Canada: Feds threatening to revoke charity status of Islamic Society of North America

Canada: Feds threatening to revoke charity status of Islamic Society of North America over concerns that it sent money to jihad terrorists

Many Islamic charities in the United States and around the world have been shut down for funding terrorism, including what was once the largest Islamic charity in the United States, the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), as well as the Global Relief Foundation (GRF), the Benevolence International Foundation (BIF), and many others. And ISNA has admitted ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. So this is no surprise. “Star Investigation: Federal audit raises concern that Canadian charity funded terror,” by Jesse McLean for Toronto Star, July 25:

Money raised by an Islamic charity created to help Canada’s poor and needy instead went overseas, potentially into the hands of violent militants, a government audit has found. The federal charity watchdog is now threatening to revoke the charity status of Mississauga’s ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) Development Foundation.

A Canada Revenue Agency audit revealed the foundation shipped more than $280,000 to a Pakistan-based agency, cash the government fears went to supporting the Hizbul Mujahideen — a militant group that seeks the secession of Kashmir from India.

The foundation “facilitated the transfer of resources that may have been used to support the efforts of a political organization . . . and its armed wing,” the CRA said in a letter to the charity outlining its findings, obtained by the Star.

“Canada’s commitment to combating terrorism extends to preventing organizations with ties to terrorism from benefiting from the tax advantages of charitable registration,” the CRA letter said.

The charity’s acting president dismissed the suggestion that the money it gave to the Pakistan-based Relief Organization for Kashmiri Muslims may have landed in the wrong hands because of poor oversight.

“The money did not go to any groups who were freedom fighters,” G. Nabi Chaudhary said. “We made sure that all of the money the charity sent to those organizations was spent on the needy, to help the misplaced. We had people on the ground who were working with the relief organizations.”

But the charity failed to show auditors any documents proving it had control over how the money was spent, as the tax agency requires.

Contradicting Chaudhary’s assurance the money was carefully spent, the charity’s board members told auditors the funds were sent abroad with “no strings.”

In fact, the sole scrap of evidence the charity said it had on how its money was spent overseas — photographs appearing to show relief work being done on behalf of the ISNA Development Foundation — was “altered,” auditors said.

A forensic examination determined the pictures of men performing relief work with a banner depicting ISNA Development Foundation in the background had been doctored after they were taken, specifically around the banner.

The charity’s directors told auditors their knowledge of the relief work done in Kashmir is based solely on these photographs.

“Once the money left Canada, (the foundation) had no control over the money, how it was spent or what it was to be spent on,” board members said, according to the CRA.

The CRA’s audit probed the charity’s operations for a three-year period, from 2007 through 2009. Since then, the foundation has sent more than $80,000 to Pakistan….
