Donald Trump: 1, CNN: 0

No American president has been attacked by leftist American media outlets as much as Donald Trump. Not even George W. Bush was criticized as much.

The war against him started since it became clear that he was “the bulldozer” of the electoral race within the Republican Party and in the society after he was a material for mockery by liberals and leftist journalists and celebrities.

CNN is one of the media podiums, which took it upon itself to fight Trump and not just criticize him. The war between Trump, his administration and supporters and this channel is a severe war in which all weapons were used.

The majority of the American media, and the European media to some extent such as the BBC, the German DW and the French France 24, have a leftist orientation that’s naturally hostile to the right-wing and conservatives, mainly to President Trump.

The media is a very strong tool that masters “stereotyping” characters, monopolizing the interpretation of events and “morally” assassinating figures via comments, caricatures and comedy shows.

Trump however is strong-willed and he decided not to submit to the media’s bullying because he understands the agenda which dictates their moves. He also knows that Barack Obama was the American president whom the American media was the nicest and kindest to.

The problem is not in the political affiliation and whether one is a leftist, a centrist or a supporter of the right-wing. The problem is when a journalist is dragged under the enthusiasm of this affiliation and when he forgets professional standards

Trap for Trump?

Few days ago, CNN fell in a trap that it had dug for Trump. It announced dismissing – it said it accepted the resignation – of three of its most prominent journalists due to a fake report on Trump and Russia. One of those dismissed is Eric Lichtblau, an editor of the channel’s investigative unit. Lichtblau had been awarded the renowned Pulitzer prize for his work in the field of journalism.

In response, Trump tweeted: “Wow, CNN had to retract big story on ‘Russia,’ with 3 employees forced to resign. What about all the other phony stories they do? FAKE NEWS!” Before that, Trump and his son Donald Jr. blasted the famous channel by describing it as a “fake news network.”

The problem is not in the political affiliation and whether one is a leftist, a centrist or a supporter of the right-wing. These are related to freedom and interest. However, the problem is when a journalist is dragged under the enthusiasm of this affiliation and when he forgets professional standards.

For example, we all know that the Qatari Al Jazeera channel and other media outlets which are allied with it, such as those affiliated with the Brotherhood, the Khomeini’s ideology and leftists, promote the Qatari narrative about Qatar’s crisis. We all know that, for example, Al Arabiya and Sky News Arabia channels are against this media camp.

However, it is not right to step on the media profession while fighting these media battles. Political affiliations are not the problem as the “basic” problem is lying and falsifying. Whims make one blind and deaf. This is the summary of the story behind CNN’s retracted Russian report.
