A masked man stabbed a teacher with a box cutter and cited Isis during the attack on Monday, French local media reported.

The attack took place near the Jean Perrin d’Aubervilliers school located in the northern suburbs of Paris.

The man was wearing a balaclava and shouted “That’s for Daesh, this is a warning”, according to The Local. He then fled from the scene.

The 45-year-old teacher, who was stabbed in the neck, was not said to have been grievously injured.

Counter-terror authorities are looking at the crime as an “attempted murder in relation to terrorism”, reports said.

Paris witnessed its deadliest terror attack last month after Isis terrorists killed at least 130 people on 13 November. The Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Last month, a teacher at a Jewish school was stabbed by Isis supporters in Marseilles in France.

Isis had called for attacks on teachers in France, in its French propaganda magazine Dar al Islam published last month, and had asked Muslim families in the country to pull out their children from ‘secular’ schools.

“France has charged its schools with teaching Republican values, but these values are nothing but a web of lies and blasphemy,” the Isis magazine said.
